Mission: Irritation Free

Mission: Irritation Free

I started Razorworks for a selfish reason: I wanted irritation-free shaves every single day.

With a background in industrial manufacturing in the USA, I understand tools. I know the difference between good tools and great ones. Safety and precision matter on the job, and the same should apply to something as personal as shaving.

Yet for years, no matter what I tried, irritation was a constant companion — especially with my combination of sensitive skin and thick facial hair.

Shaving Is More Complicated Than It Looks

We’re told it’s simple: apply cream, drag a razor across your face, done.

In reality, many variables determine whether your shave is smooth or painful:

  • Skin type
  • Hair density and coarseness
  • Hair length
  • Shaving tool
  • Blade choice
  • Soap lubricity
  • Moisture level

After years of testing and experimenting, I realized that consistently great, irritation-free shaves come down to three core areas:

1. Prep

Clean skin and proper moisture are essential. I get the best results shaving during or right after a hot shower when my skin is soft and hydrated.

2. Shaving

This is where most of the problems happen. Even with great prep and soap, a poor tool, dull blade, or wrong settings will cause nicks, tugging, and irritation. The shaving tool itself is the single biggest factor you can control.

3. Aftercare

Your skin has just been exfoliated by a blade. Moisturizing and protecting that fresh skin is critical to avoiding razor burn and ingrown hairs.

There are already many excellent products for prep and aftercare. The real gap was in the tool itself.

The Missing Piece: Adjustability

Most razors on the market are one-size-fits-all. Big razor companies want you to believe one cartridge or fixed safety razor works perfectly for every face. That simply isn’t true.

Different skin and hair combinations need different levels of aggression. That’s why we designed the R1 Hammerhead with the adjustments that actually matter:

  • Adjustable blade exposure (mild to aggressive)
  • Adjustable pivoting head tension
  • Familiar cartridge-style feel with the performance of a premium safety razor

The result? A single tool that can be dialed in to your exact needs for a consistently close, irritation-free shave.

If you’ve tried everything and still deal with irritation, you’re likely just one high-quality, adjustable razor away from the daily shave you’ve been looking for.

The Razorworks R1 Hammerhead was built in the USA for shavers like me — lust like you too — who want a real tool, not another disposable compromise.
